A frostbite advisory, issued by Ottawa Public Health, begins tonight and will last until Jan.14.
This evening will see lows of -23 C and -16 C tomorrow and with the wind chill, it will feel like -33 C, Environment Canada is forecasting.
These advisories are issued when extremely cold weather is expected to hit the city.
Ottawa’s Public Health website encourages citizens to call 2-1-1 to help access its cold weather assistance programs which include: emergency sleeping spaces in shelters, street outreach services and transportation provided by the Salvation Army.
