With restrictions, school buses roll for return to classes
According to the Ottawa Student Transit Authority, the biggest new rule is students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 must wear cloth or medical masks on all buses. The Ottawa Citizen has more.
OCDSB to make menstrual products available free by 2022
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) will be the first board in the city to offer free menstrual products in their school washrooms, says the CBC. Other school boards in Ontario such as the Toronto District School Board, the Waterloo Region District School Board and the Thames Valley District School Board in London already offer free menstrual products to their students.

COVID outbreaks shut emergency shelters in Ottawa
The city’s four emergency housing shelters, the Shepherds of Good Hope, the Salvation Army’s Booth Centre, the Ottawa Mission and the Cornerstone Housing for Women, note in a joint statement that they will not be taking new clients. According to CTV, the organizations are working with the City of Ottawa to find temporary housing for individual needing to get indoors for the night.
Snowbirds urge Ottawa to change travel restrictions
On Friday, the Prime Minister stated all arrivals into Canada must quarantine in an approved hotel for up to three days as they await the results of a COVID-19 test taken at the airport. This then led to snowbirds calling on the Prime Minister to adapt more “sensible” rules. The Ottawa Citizen has more on the story.
