Ottawa Police responded to a stabbing call around 7 a.m. and found an intoxicated man had fallen through a pane of glass, impaling himself.
According to police, the incident, which took place on Bell Street North, near the corner of Bronson Avenue and Raymond Street, was first reported as an altercation and stabbing, prompting a large police response.
Upon arriving, police discovered that the injuries were self-inflicted, and the man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening, but still serious injuries.
The incident is still under investigation.
