TD Bank will be increasing security at many of its locations in the city after an increase in bank robberies.
There have already been 20 bank robberies in 2015. This time last year only nine bank robberies had been reported.
TD Bank said it hopes additional security guards will help people feel safe.
Modern security features at banks limit the amount of money a bank employee can access at once. Security cameras have also improved over time, now capturing detailed, high quality images.
Ottawa Police say they solve around three quarters of bank robbery cases. In 2014, they solved 77 per cent of all cases.
